Who Do Muslims Worship?

Muslims worship Allah, the one and only God in the universe. Muslims believe very strictly about the absolute oneness of Allah. It is the foundation of Islamic belief and emphasizes that there is no god but Allah, and He has no partners, equals, or associates. It is called Tawhid which is the foundation of Islamic belief.

Allah emphasizes multiple times in the Quran that worship should be directed solely to Him.

Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him. (Surah Nisa, 4:35)

O My servants who have believed, indeed My earth is spacious, so worship only Me. (Surah Ankabut, 29:56)

O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous. (Surah Baqara, 2:21)

Muslims believe that Allah is the same God worshipped by earlier monotheistic religions like Judaism and Christianity. However, they emphasize the strict belief in His absolute oneness, and there is no partner, equal, or associate with Him in His divinity.

Muslims express their worship of Allah through various acts, including prayer (Salah), fasting (Sawm), charity (Zakat), and pilgrimage (Hajj), all while following the teachings of the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
