In this article, we will learn the dua for driving from the Holy Quran and the Noble Hadith.
To complete the dua for driving, first of all, we have to say Bismillah and Alhamdulillah as instructed below:
So, when entering the vehicle, you should say: Bismillah and once you’re inside the vehicle, say: Alhamdulillah. (Abu Dawud, Hadith: 2602)
Dua for Driving and Riding
Next, you should recite the well-known dua for riding a vehicle:
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِيْ سَخَّرَ لَنَا هٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِيْنَ، وَإِنَّا إِلٰى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُوْنَ
Transliteration
Subhānalladhī Sakhkhara Lanā Hādhā, Wa Mā Kunnā Lahū Muqrinīn, Wa Innā Ilā Rabbinā Lamunqalibūn.
Meaning and Translation
Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it.
