The surah recited on Friday is Surah Al-Kahf, the 18th surah of the Holy Quran.
The hadith about the sura to be recited on Friday
Abu Saeed Khudri (Radiallahu Anhu) narrated, The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said:
مَنْ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْكَهْفِ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ أَضَاءَ لَهُ مِنَ النُّورِ مَا بَيْنَ الْجُمُعَتَيْنِ
“If anyone recites sura al-Kahf (Qur’ān, 18) on Friday, a light will shine brightly for him till the next Friday.” (Mustadrak Hakim 3392, Sunan Baihaqi 5996)
Many Muslims make it a habit to recite Surah Al-Kahf every Friday morning, before the Juma prayer. It can be read in one sitting or divided into parts throughout the day.
