Dua Qunoot: Dua for Witr Prayer

Dua Qunoot is a special supplication recited in the Witr prayer every day, and often in the Fajr prayer when Muslims are under attack by nonmuslims.

Arabic Dua Qunoot
Allahummahdini Fiman Hadait

Hasan bin Ali said: Allah’s Messenger taught me some phrases to say during Witr prayer:

Dua Qunoot English Translation

O Allah guide me among those You have guided, pardon me among those You have pardoned, befriend me among those You have befriended, bless me in what You have granted, and save me from the evil that You decreed. Indeed You decree, and none can pass decree, and none can pass decree upon You, indeed he is not humiliated whom You have befriended, blessed are You our Lord and Exalted.

(Tirmidhi 464, Nasai 1746, Abu Dawud 1425)

O Allah, we seek Your help and Your forgiveness. We believe in You and rely upon You, and we praise You beneficently. We thank you and we do not deny You. We abandon and renounce whoever defies You. O Allah, You alone do we worship, and to You, we pray and bow down prostrate. To You, we hasten to worship and to serve. Our hope is for Your mercy, and we fear Your punishment. Surely, Your punishment of the disbelievers is at hand.
